Are you counting down, too?

As of this very moment ... as I write this post ... there are 3 days and 26 minutes left until the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

And just in case your a newbie, here are some basics about this MASSIVE global sports event.

• It goes from June 11th to July 11th.  (Geez that's long!)
• It's in South Africa this time.
• There will be 32 teams in it.
• It starts with 3 games played per day.
• The 32 teams are divided into 8 groups of 4.  Each group plays a round robin with 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 for a loss.  The top 2 teams from each group advance to the knockout round.  And from there, it's a single elimination.  Check this out for more info.
• You should probably know that everything from the 2nd round onward is probably going to be pretty exciting ... so catch what you can on t.v.
